Robinson R-22:

Part number A493-1 Sheave on the engine, A018-1 clutch assembly on drive shaft and A0190-2 V-belts Matched set of two. They look like multiple groove belts.

If twin V-belt sets are to be used for primary reduction then consider a soft-start similar to the Helicycle. Have the output end of the engine pivot up and down slightly. Consider no using an idler pulley, just have vertical adjustment in the sort-start mechanism. The mechanism will be similar to Destaco clamps. A horizontal (side to side) adjustment could be used to balance the tension between the two belt sets.

Idea:

Fix the axle of the pusher prop, and its sheave. The output end of the engine and its sheave can probably move up and down slightly, because of the engine's rubber mounts. The sheave and its axle to the rotors can move up and down, because the clutch operates as per the Robinson. The actuator can push against the prop's shaft and this will tension both sets of belts. The belts to the prop will probably rotate the prop at all time but since the prop is feathered when not in forward flight, the lightly tensioned belts will probably not slip.

Notes:

See the prop extension on page 104 of Tony Bingelis on Engines.

UniCopter is to go with a Robinson style (sheaves and belts)
