SynchroLite ~ Rotor - Hub - 3-blade - 'Absolutely' Rigid Rotor w/ Rieseler Control

• Reduced V-angle as compared to 2-blade teetering and CVJw/HS.
• Closer coupling between rotor and fuselage than 2-blade teetering and CVJw/HS.
• Is the building block to the UniCopter.

• Some theoretically rambling, 'cause what else is there to do on a Friday night.
• Take the Wilford Rotor.
• Connect the 4 pitch horns on the Wilford to the spider with very strong pitch links.
• Weld the outer race of the Spherical Bearing to the Siding Surface, to freeze the collective.
• The aerodynamics set the angle of attack of the opposing blades and the Wilford mechanical connection between these two blades holds their respective pitch positions.
• Also, the spider now mechanically links the respective pitches positions. In fact the spider links the respective pitch positions of all four blades.
• We can therefore cut out the initial Wilford interconnections between the two pair of opposing blades.
• Since the strong 2P vibrations only exist on 2-blade rotors we only need three blades. The fourth blade can now be removed and the remaining three blades be relocated at 120-degree azimuths.
• Having gone this far and built a gyrocopter, we now remove the previous welding that locked the collective.
• Between the collective lever and the spider we insert a 10:1 or greater worm and wheel.
• A power-train cannot back drive through a worm & wheel with a >= 10:1 ratio therefore no rotor forces will get back to the collective lever.
• We now have the makings of a gyrocopter with jump takeoff capability.
• OR alternatively, add a second main rotor, not an inefficient fan-on-tail, and we have the makings of a helicopter.

• The blades of both helicopters require a high degree of rigidity; but: A blade's thrust is a function of it's angle of attack and it's angle of attack is a function of its pitch. Therefore the teetering of this rotor removes pitch and therefor lower moments are generated by the blade than would be generated by the UniCopter's blade. Note that the fixed azimuth spring may occasionally add to the moment.
• In other words; if the hub spring on this rotor were 'frozen' the craft would behave similar to the Absolutely Rigid Rotor; until the stresses destroyed it.

• Phase angle will be close to 0º
