From patent;
"the capability to store electrical energy in the range of 52 kWh. The total weight of an EESU with this range of electrical energy storage is about 336 pounds."
5 lbs per hp-hr
From Rick;
Interesting that with these specs, a unit providing 12Kwh would weigh approx. 78 lbs. This would give us about an hour flight, considering takeoff of 1 min to altitude and cruising at 45% power. Not bad. The big bonus is never having to replace the unit for the life of the helicopter.

Other:
Safety:
Consider equipping the craft with a capacitor that holds 10 seconds of full power. The capacitor would be activated by a switch and it's power would be used for flare from a full autorotation where the batteries power had been consumed or lost.Extra Power for Initial Portion of Takeoff: Consider equipping the craft with a capacitor that holds 10 seconds of full power.
