Control - Flight - CyclicOverview:
Lateral control is via the rotation of a tube; located within the fuselage tube. Range on rotor blades is +8 to -8 degrees.
Longitudinal control is via a horizontal push/pull control rod; located within the fuselage tube. Range on rotor blades is +13 to -9 degrees.
May require a forward velocity sensing/control device or pilot operated control to adjust for opposed (differential) lateral cyclic positioning in forward flight. See
B134.Re: CVJ & Hub Spring:
Use of the
Hub for 3-blade CVJ & Hub Spring rotor will probably result in the pilot to use greater cyclic forces. This is because of a greater radial load on the pitch bearings. Two modifications may overcome this, plus provide other advantages, They are; elastomeric pitch bearings and, non linear ratio between the cyclic stick movement and the pitch horn movement.![]()
