OTHER: ~ Rotor Concept - One-Piece Hub and Spars

• An intermeshing helicopter where the obliquity of the masts is slightly closer to the vertical than on previous intermeshing helicopters.
• The frame of the rotorhub and all of the blade spars are manufactured as a single part. There are no pitch bearings or blade attachment flanges. This means that the vertical thickness of the hub and the diameter of the blade roots are less.

• The planes of the two rotor disks can be closer to horizontal.
• The blade tip to ground clearance at azimuth-90 will be closer to horizontal.
• The torque ~ pitch cross-coupling will be reduced.
• The lift of both rotors will be closer to vertical.
• The stability of the craft should be enhanced.
• The drag of the rotorhub and blade-roots will be less.
• The part count will be less.
• The life of the part should be greater.

• To produce the rotor hub and the spars of the three blades as one carbon filament wound item.
• The unidirectional carbon tow in the trailing side of the spar of one blade is carried through the hub and on to the leading side of the spar of the next blade.
• The spars consist of unidirectional pultruded carbon tow.
• Inside each spar is a torque tube that controls the tip pitch.
• A separate root pitch is control by rotating the skin at the root about the spar.
