DESIGN: Electrotor-BladeMotor ~ Rotor

This is the motor in blade idea.

Sketch:

This is a 2-blade rotor, with a motor at the root of both blades.

Both motors rotate the rotor. Each motor controls the pitch of its respective blade.

Rough preliminary sketch. All of the proposed motor drive and control arraignment will come from Single-Bladed All Electric Rotor.

Hub:

The hub contains a Constant Velocity Joint.

A spiral bevel gear is located on the outside of the CVJ

The blades, motors and pinion gear rotate about the non-rotating crown gear and CVJ.

Undersling, Precone and Rotor Radius:

The undersling on the CVJ+HS (1350.dc) is 1.125". The precone is 3º and the rotor radius is 8' - 8" ft. but there is consideration to reduce the radius to 8' - 0" due to the 3 blades.
The undersling on the teetering (0088.dc) is 1.2055". The precone is 4º and the rotor radius is 8' - 8' ft.

Hub Spring:

Fixed: There should be a fixed hub spring to resist any excessive inward tipping of the disks.

Rotating: The inclusion of this would probable be a good idea; for testing etc.

Commutator: There is a commutator at each hub that transfers power to the two motors (4 wires) and positional information from the rotor to the Electronic Speed Controller [ESC] (6 wires?).

Disk:

It looks like the rotors must have their azimuths > 45º out of phase for them to clash. This includes the chord width.

Blade:

Non-tapered. Asymmetrical. Twisted.

Wild Idea;

The Independent Root & Tip - Torque Tube Method by locating two motors coaxially and including a second crown and pinion.

This Interleaving configuration is the second best lift to horsepower arraignment. The best being the side-by-side configuration. The Intermeshing Flettner Fl282 lifted 16#/hp, so this should theoretically lift up to 16lb x 10hp x 4 motors = 640 lbs. as an Intermeshing rotor and somewhat more as an Interleaving rotor.
