Control - Power Train![]()
Location:
Consider locating some of the controls, for the power train (such as soft-starts, engine kill switches, synchronizer), under the seat. This will put them close to the devices they actuate. It will also minimize the chance of accidental actuation. They should have distinct shapes and locations so that the operator can distinguish between them by feel. Port drive train controls under port side of seat and starboard controls under starboard side of seat. This will shorten linkages and is intuative for the pilot.
Engine instruments (and fuel?) might be located here also.

Throttle:
Consider have springs on both sides of the engine's throttle lever. The springs will position the throttle at a RPM that will give a slow rate of descent. The helicopter will there by come to a safe landing should the throttle linkage between the operator and engine break. Better yet, have the engine's throttle accessible by the operator.
Remember to have a collective/throttle correlator, if governor not used, or maybe with governor also.

Soft-Start (2 req'd)
Located in [Power Train]

Load Balancing:
![]()
Kill (2 req'd)
An independent control for each of the engines that will stop them from firing.
![]()
Engine Synchronizer (1 req'd)
Control to put the 2 engines into synchronization. Can they be synchronized if using a cog belts?
Maybe this is used to balance power loading, as indicated by temperature?
Could be located under the seat.
![]()
FADEC
Could this be combined with engine synchronization? For more information see:
