• Tape Spar: These notes should also go on the spar page or spar MAKE drawing.
• Setting center of chord at 27%. This will get the spar tape into a slightly thicker area.
• Consider starting winding at 2/3 of the span form the root on upper rear area and winding toward root. Then (hopefully) finish off on the bottom in the rear area, having gone 1/3 of the way spanwise from the root. This will give a slightly thicker spar at the root.
• Shorter strips could be included, perhaps between the long winding, however they will not receive the same amount of 'pultrusion'.
• Is the intention to mold the tap profile by compression or machine it off later?

• More:
• If the tape is 1.5" wide and the center of the chord is at 27% then if 27% of span at the tip = 1.5" then 100% of span at tip is 5.5556". The actual span will be slightly less since there is a small curvature at the tip.
• If ring at the root has a diameter of 0.875" and the center of the chord is at 27% then if 27% of span at the root = (0.4375+1.5) = 1.9375" then 100% of span at root is 7.1792". The actual span will be less since the curvature at the root is quite large.
• Wire cutting:
• Will the slower speed of transitioning the shorter tip profile plate and the thinness of the cut core at this end deform the core? Should the aluminum template at the tip end be wider or cooled to remove more heat from that end of the wire?
• Divide the chords up at both ends by some common number and then count out the positions while cutting.
• Twist? It will definitely be an advantage.

• Plot the VR-8 profile. Then overlay the VR-7 profile, centering on 25% of chordline. Then consider the VR-8 to be at the tip and the VR-7 to be at 50% of span (or actual blade length) and plot the point for the root (at the coupling location.
• If the above does not result in a thick enough root, then do the above but put the VR-7 profile at 33.33% of chord.
• The above profiles are done at 1" chord lengths and then the profiles are sized up to suit the desired chord length at the span location of the 3 profiles.
• This does not give the profile at 13.5" of span where the chord is the greatest.
• The root chord will be modified so that the behind 27% of chord is a mirror image of the before the 27% of chord.

• Leave the radius at 6-feet plus 3-inch tip plate. But adjust the chord width depending on what is the optimum RPM for the motor and the thrust.
