Commutation:

"Commutation creates a rotation field. Proper operation of a BLDC motor requires the angle between stator and rotor flux to remain close to 90°. The stator flux vector must be changed at a certain rotor position. .......... There is no possibility with a six-step control technique of keeping a precise 90° angle between the rotor flux and the stator flux. Rotation is clockwise.

Voltage changes take place at the vector.

3-phase Voltage Strokes Applied to the 3-phase BLDC Motor:

Three-phase with duplicity for enhanced reliability will be a duplicate of the above but with the strokes shifted +30º.

Will a single 6-phase winding provide more torque than two 3-phase windings, and therefore have better performance?
