4-phase Voltage Strokes Applied to the 4-phase BLDC Motor:

The high drive period and the low drive period of each output is separated by a floating drive phase period. This dead time means that the high and the low drivers for the same phase cannot be active at the same time. This is applicable to 3-phase and from the above it is obviously applicable to greater phase counts.
