The following may have been done for Item 1549 and should be revised or added to

Work Related to Reduction with Conventional Set of Plant Gears:

Using the Database Program to Evaluate Gear Diameters and Associated Reduction ratio.

The following data is probably not the latest.

A/ This is about as small as the sun gear can get without two-tiering the planet gears; or going to 3 or 2 planet gears.

Sun gear: 3.3" diameter.

Planet gears (4): 6.8" diameter.

Ring gear: 17" diameter.

Ratio: 6.1:1 ~ RRPM = 600 then MRPM = 3660.

B/ This requires a two-tiered planet gears. However the 2-tiering wlll not work since the planet holder cannot get past the gears.

Sun gear: 1.5" diameter.

Planet gears (4) : 7.75" diameter.

Ring gear: 17" diameter.

Ratio: 12.4:1 ~ RRPM = 600 then MRPM = 7433.

C/ The above B/ will work with a single tier if the number of planets is reduce to 3. It might be a little better if the sun gear was increased to say 2" diameter; which will give;

Sun gear: 2.0" diameter.

Planet gears (4) : 7.5" diameter.

Ring gear: 17" diameter.

Ratio: 9.5:1 ~ RRPM = 600 then MRPM = 5,700.

These are Item 1548
