There is a large pinion and a small pinion. Above each of these pinions is a pair of racks that go to the forward proprotor. The small pinion & rack extend the proprotor while the large pinion and rack rotated the proprotor as it is extending.

Below both of these pinions are a pair of racks that move in the opposite direction to the aft proprotor.

The above assumes that the amount of extension will be the same for the forward and the aft proprotor. If different then they will need their own pair of gears; which might be counter rotating. This counter-rotation may allow for the forward proprotors pair to be higher whereby the cross-shaft between the port and starboard side can be buried in the wing.
