Interleaving Intermeshing

Advantages of Interleaving:

It will have the lowest disk loading of all configurations, with the exception of the Side-by-side. This is a significant advantage when considering Heavy Lift Rotorcraft.

The Mil Mi-12 Homer holds the record for the world's largest helicopter. It is basically Side-by-side, however it,s rotors interleaf by 10 feet.

Approximately 12% smaller rotors and blades for the same disk loading.
There is little or no rotor-to-rotor downwash.
The airflow to the upper quadrant of the pusher propeller is no blocked.
There is little aerodynamic interaction between the rotors and the propeller.
