Item 1303
DESIGN: UniCopter ~ Rotor -
Blade - General - Planform

Drawing:
This drawing is a partial copy from DESIGN: UniCopter ~ Rotor - Blade - VR-7modified - Planform, Profiles and Lift

Notes:
For information on profile, particularly at root, see the bottom of drawing at the bottom of the page DESIGN: UniCopter ~ Rotor - Blade - NACA 00xx - Spar. It looks like a chord of 12" at the root is ideal.
The root portion of the blade has a sharp leading and trailing edge.
The pitch values for blade clearances are given on OTHER: Aerodynamics - Rotor Concept - Independent Root & Tip Control Concept
It might be advantageous to have the pitch axis at the root end greater than 25% of chord. This is because when the blade is at 270º azimuth during fast forward flight there will be a large aerodynamic moment on the root pitch link.
