Item 1169

MAKE: Dragonfly ~ Rotor - Hub - Grip

Drawing:

Initially for Prototype:

Consider produce the thimble oversize so that it can be inserted in an undersize hole in the yoke casting and bolted in at a fixed pitch.

Notes:

The ID of the bearings is 25 mm, which is 0.9842". Note that there is a passageway through the bore.

The thickness of an 0012 airfoil with a 4.75" chord is 0.57". The grip must be wider to accept the additional composite plys at the blade root.

Consider using some type of hollow pin. Torrington catalog?

Consider attaching the blade to the grip with two pins. The large front one being at 25% of chord and a smaller aft one with two eccentric collars for static lag adjustment. Then again, perhaps don't do anything and just have a single pin with a locating slot and rigid. This will allow the blades to be bundled or quickly removed. Any in-plane damping can be done at the yoke.

Note that the passageway must pass through the pin and collar.

All projections must be on the bottom of the clevis, to not interfere with the blade on the other rotor.
