Overview:

Information related to a complete individual rotor, with no concern for the rotorcraft's configuration.

Concern:

The inclusion of a propulsor, such as a propeller, probably means that the rotor disks will be close to being aligned with the airflow during cruise. The objective of the 'Absolutely' Rigid Rotor is to have a pre-cone angle of approximately 4º. Around 215º azimuth the blade - elements will be experiencing a changing from reverse flow to forward flow. Therefore there is a possibility that the airflow will be temporarily striking the top surface of the blade. In other words all lift from the blade elements will be lost and it may be 1 - 6 semi-chord lengths of rotation before it reattaches correctly with the pressure on it's lower surface.

This may cause vibration. It may also cause the craft to want to pitch up, but this may be good in that is will offset the downward pitch due to the drag of the fuselage.
