Item 1052
DESIGN:
UniCopter ~ Rotor - Disk - Anhedral [R ?] along Blade Span

Notes:
To compensate for inability to get absolutly rigid blade. The intent of the anhedral is to assure that the blade is absolutely straight spanwise when hovering OGE.

Deflection Notes:
Composite construction with very high strength and stiffness. Blades constructed with a downward bow (anhedral). Preferably more stiffness and less anhedral. Blades to be horizontal when hovering out of ground effect at gross weight.
Anhedral in the blades may make the helicopter statically unstable when the rotor is partially unloaded during forward cyclic at the start of a descent.
The amount of anhedral that is build into the blade will probably be equal to the blade's deformation when hovering at gross weight times 1(?).
Consider using the existing airfoil program to develop a thicker profile at around 30% of R and then looking at the CL & CD etc. for this profile.
