Derate to 50 hp at 4750 rpm with a torque of 55 lb-ft.

Ref. The MZ201 is rated at 45 hp at 4700 rpm with a torque of 48.5 lb-ft.

Notes:

It appears that the Zanzottera MZ 202 is 11 lbs. lighter than the Hirth 2706. Both are rated at 65 hp. and both will be de-rated to 50 hp. Reliability may still be a question but this weight reduction will be needed to keep the economical version of helicopter under 254 pounds.

The manufacturer / distributor is Southern Cross Machining Inc. in Surrey, BC, Canada [C119]

There is no fuel injection for this yet. It might be available on special request. It would cost 2,000.00 US extra.

The standard carbs are Bing but they can be replace by Tilson for vertical mounting.

Engine is rated for 500 hours but it is recommended that the pistons and rings be inspected at 150 hours.

The cooling air shroud around the cylinder heads is made from carbon composite.

The only differences between the MZ201 and the MZ 202 are; 1 to 2 carburetors, plus cooling fan and shroud.
