Kaflex Coupling: (prefered?)
This type of coupling is used on the K-Max. It is located just outside the power-train. It requires no lubrication and is probably quite light. I assume that it will work with the Robinson V-belt soft start arraignment.
See booklet on this coupling. Also see K-max Intermeshing Rotor Drive System article , p. 1556.
Does Kaman make small ones?![]()
Polyurethane Coupling:
Consider polyurethane coupling. See Rex Omega and even better yet Viva:
http://www.rexnord.com/content/prodc.htmlProbably make a custom one but the Rex ones will give an overview.
If it is made as one part, it should have more strength than the Rex's two-part ones.
Consider bolting to the centrifugal clutch of mid reducer from the inside of this coupling then only the other side must be attached from the outside.
