Item 0774

MAKE: SynchroLite ~ Power Train - Reduction - Secondary - Gear - Sun - 12 DP - 24 tooth

Drawing:

Notes:

FORM: Gear - Spur - Dimensions

FORM: Hamilton Spur Gear Selection

Safety Factor - Durability = 4 * 19.6 = 78.4; 78.4 / 29.3 = 2.67; ~or~ 3 * 19.6 = 58.8; 58.8 / 29.3 = 2.00 Will durability be less because of 4 planetary gears wearing on 1 sun gear?

Safety Factor - Strength = 4 * 26.2 = 104.8; 104.8 / 29.3 = 3.58: ~or~ 3 * 26.2 = 78.6; 78.6 / 29.3 = 2.68

The bore is to be slightly greater than bearing ID's so that this gear can be slide on over the bearing locations. The mast might have to have a slightly smaller OD under this gear, for clearance.

Are the walls thick enough to take the torque, without twisting the teeth or fracturing the gear. Breakage of the gear might be critical because it is in close proximity to the mast.
