Item 0304

MAKE: Power Train - Frame - Upper Mount Housing

Drawing:

Isolation Mount:

There should possibly be an isolation (rubber or elastomeric) mounting (rubber cartridge - Torrington Fafnir Housed Units) around the two bearing. See Item 0841, Use rubber part of Torrington LRCSM 1-3/16. Reason -

  1. There are 3 bearing between housing and mast. If top of mast is bent to left then the mast between 2 lower bearings will want to bend to left also. If no upper bearing or very soft mount then lower portion will want to bend to right. A firm elastomeric may average the 2 actions and there by eliminate any bending ant reduction units. If the upper frame gives a little there may be no need for elastomeric mount??
  2. The lead-lag of the rotor disk; see DESIGN: Power Train - Frame [B132]. This movement on the SynchroLite will probably be less than 1/32 inch. ~ see Chuck Beaty's comment on B132.

Lubrication:

It will be fed oil from a clear hose.

Attached to:

Tube which envelopes mast

Cross brace to other mast

Diagonal brace to back of drive frame

Scissors (or guide) to swashplate. Located at front.

Elastomeric attachment to Fusalage. Located at front.

Housing Material:

I think it must be A/ cast aluminum, hardened to T-6, or B/ Machined from 7075 T-6 aluminum.

To do:

Still have to put seal on top of bearing.
