DESIGN: SynchroLite ~ Rotor - Blade - Composite - VR-7b - Root

Consider having 2 pins

Consider including pultruded rectangular carbon rod for the spars web and/or flanges, to assist the inidirectional carbon tape.

Calculations re size and shape of Retainer Ring:

Calculations and drawing 0236 base on 0.75" diameter * 0.75" long retainer and 0.75" wide tape.

Views are OK but actual length of tape will be longer because of third dimension. When exact dimensions of retainer and tape determined then calculate exact tape length in this area, using trigonometry.

Calculations to make strands in the tape passing around the retainer the same length:

The distance at the middle of the tape is (1.7776 - 1.6925) = 0.0851 less than at sides. The following is the middle of the tape with the center of the retainer having a 0.125" larger diameter i.e. giving it a "barrel" shape.

Retainer to have 0.75" diameters at ends, 0.875" diameter in middle and be 0.75" long.

The above calculations are based on the tape wrapping 180 degrees and then passing straight to the tip with a gap between the front and back strands. Redo the calculations to match drawing when width of tape and size of ring etc. finalized.
